Are you a medical student interested in cardiothoracic surgery?
Join us on 25 July for the LSOC–SCTS Cardiothoracic Immersion Day, a unique collaboration between the London School of Cardiothoracics (LSOC) and the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery Student Education Committee (SCTS SEC).
This nationally supported, immersive educational experience is designed to inspire and equip the next generation of cardiothoracic surgeons through hands-on learning, expert faculty engagement, career insights, and exposure to the realities of modern cardiothoracic practice.
Whether you’re exploring a future in cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, transplantation, or surgical innovation, this is an opportunity to gain valuable insight into one of medicine’s most challenging and rewarding careers.

Basic Robotic Technical Skills (BRiTS) course is a one day practical skills course dedicated to robotic surgery for cardiothoracic trainees.
This is our flagship course, running for the 6th successive year.
Includes:
- Hands on Training on DaVinci Xi Robotic System
- WetLab Simulation
- Advanced Drylab simulation
- Lunch Included in ticket cost
The ONLY robotic course for Junior Surgeons in Europe!

Unless explicitly stated, all courses are strictly application-only. Initial registration does not guarantee a place in a course.
This policy is necessary due to the varying grade requirements for each course.
By implementing application-only tickets, we can ensure that participants meet the necessary grade for access to the course. Additionally, we prioritise applicants who are currently in or intend to apply for cardiothoracic-related training (surgery, followed by cardiology, respiratory, critical care and anaesthesia).
Beyond these initial prerequisites, all applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
If selected, further information for payment will be sent.
Course places are only confirmed once payment has been received, and the applicant has received a confirmation email.
Please note that, due to recent changes outside of our control, all courses will now include an additional, small, processing fee.
This will be reflected in the final cost.
